Would you like a free wooden nickel?
Unfortunately, I had them made when the book first came out back in 2003 and only have a handful left. So here's what I'll do. The first 10 people to watch the video (it's about 3 1/2 minutes long) and respond with a comment and an email will be sent a free wooden nickel in return.
In your comment, answer this question:
What would you do if your grown daughter was living abroad and sending home photos like the ones Emily sent to us? (Once you see the video, you'll know exactly which pics I'm talking about. They were taken at some sort of tiger habitat in Thailand.)
As for the email, send it to mindy@mindystarnsclark.com, make the subject line "I commented", and in the body of the email provide your name and mailing address so I can send you one of these 10 wooden nickels. Good luck!
And just to clarify, I'd love to hear your comments whether you want a nickel or not. If you want to comment but don't want the nickel, just don't send the email. :) Thanks!
"YIKES" is what I would say if my child sent photos like that home for us to "enjoy". :-)
ReplyDeleteThe first word out of my mouth probably wasn't quite so G-rated. :) Good thing we could only communicate via text when she sent those, because it gave me time to compose myself a little before responding. Kids!
DeleteI WOULD LOVE TO SEE ONE IN REAL LIFE, I HAD A WHITE MOUSE AN I LOVED HER BUT HAD TO GIVE HER AWAY SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE A FAMIL.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see most of the animals in the video in real life. I live in the mountains of Montana so our wildlife is a little different.
ReplyDeleteAs to the question I really don't know what I'd do... I'm still very single so I don't have any kids and can't really hazard a guess. I'm probably closer to being the one sending the pictures, LOL.
Oh wow - I can't believe your daughter leaned in when the alligator was lunging out of the water!!! If my grown daughter was sending me pictures like that, I'd be a little nervous, excited for her, and I would pray for her safety!

That's just about exactly how we handled it, Rachel, though we did send some emphatic texts saying that had not been a smart thing to do. (Her sister texted the same. At least in retrospect Emily admitted the that tiger thing was pushing it a bit too far. Then she sent pics with kangaroos and koalas, haha.) It's not so easy once they're grown and off to stop worrying about them. Then again, I'd rather her have an adventurous spirit than a timid one, so I guess we'll continue to keep her in prayer and take things as they come. :)
